Invited by Associate Professor Shang Wang and Professor Yanhong Tian, School of Materials Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Precision Welding and Connecting of Material Structures, Professor Andreu Cabot from the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC), Spain, will deliver a series of academic lectures in 2026. This lecture focuses on rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries.
The presentation will elaborate on major technical challenges in this field, including zinc dendrite growth, parasitic side reactions, cathode dissolution and structural degradation, as well as the limited electrochemical stability window of aqueous electrolytes. Furthermore, it will discuss coordinated optimization strategies covering material design, electrolyte engineering and interface modification to improve battery capacity, Coulombic efficiency, cycling stability and overall performance of practical battery cells.
Speaker: Andreu Cabot
