On the morning of 19 May, a delegation from the Department of Materials Engineering at the Russian Technical University, led by Professor Svetlana Tiurina, Head of the Department, and including experts from the Osipyan Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences—Vladimir Masalov, Olga Kamynina and Nadezhda Sukhinina—visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Professor Liu Zihang, Deputy Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, along with Professors Tian Xiubo and Zhang Qiang, Associate Professor Liu Hai (Deputy Head of the Department of Space Materials and Devices), and Associate Professor Zhang Yu, attended the exchange meeting in Conference Room 629 of the Materials Building. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Liu Hai.
At the meeting, Vice-Dean Liu Zihang, on behalf of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), extended a warm welcome to the visiting Russian experts and provided an overview of the School’s development and the research interests of its academic staff. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on future avenues and opportunities for collaboration in specialist fields such as additive manufacturing and composite coating technologies. Both parties agreed to fully leverage their respective strengths to engage in practical cooperation in areas such as cutting-edge materials science research, joint project applications, talent development and laboratory construction, thereby jointly promoting the collaborative development of both sides in the field of materials science and engineering.
