Invited by Associate Professor Shang Wang and Professor Yanhong Tian, School of Materials Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Precision Welding and Connecting of Material Structures, Professor Andreu Cabot from the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC), Spain, will deliver a series of academic lectures in 2026.
This lecture will present two emerging approaches to accelerate the development of functional materials. The first part will focus on electrohydrodynamic 3D printing with controlled jet deflection, an advanced additive manufacturing technique enabling precise material deposition and the fabrication of complex micro- and nanoscale architectures. The second part will explore automated material synthesis and electrochemical characterization, highlighting the integration of robotic experimentation, high-throughput testing, and data-driven optimization to accelerate materials discovery. Together, these approaches illustrate how advanced manufacturing and autonomous experimentation can open new opportunities for materials research and energy technologies.
